Trigger happy...

So I am ready to trigger. I can't believe I am already up to this point!! I have had 5 or 6 dr visits in the last week, and today I have follies that measure 16mm-21mm. So Josh gets to trigger me at 9pm tonight. Oh yeah, I also have to work tonight rearranging the store, so Josh gets to come to my work to do it. We don't really have a choice though, I can't do it myself (I don't think anyway, I am gonna google it..) and I don't have anyone there who could do it for me. Plus that would be weird....

Dr says he will most likely have 21-23 eggs to retreive, I am hoping there will be at least 10 mature. ER will be bright and early Tuesday morning! We have to be there by 7:15am, retreival is at 8, I will be able to go home by around 9:30. I think Josh will only take a half day since I will be on bedrest and sleeping most of the day anyway. I also have Wednesday off to rest as well.

My boss was at my store yesterday and although I didn't tell her exactly what was going on, I did tell her I had to be out Tuesday for a "procedure". she had mentioned she would be at my store Tuesday so I had to say something.

I have been pretty exhausted and emotional too. Yesterday Josh and I were talking about something lame and I for some reasons burst into tears. I was telling him I was sorry for crying, I felt so stupid about it, he just hugged me and said he understood. It was ridiculous...but these lovely hormones surging through me make me do strange things...

Ok back to watching The Cramps perform on an old episode of BH90210.. The Cramps? at the Peach Pit with Dylan, Brandon, Kelly, Steve, and Donna? REALLY?!

Doin' the Pidgeon

Yesterday while in Seaside I saw a flight of pidgeons and it reminded me of a Sesame Street skit with Bert. I told Josh about it and he didn't remember it. So thanks to the magic of the iphone I youtubed it to show him. for the rest of the day he would "do the pidgeon" every once in a while... I know why I married him :)

I love this video.... even though you see Bert's legs and feet and puppets with feet have always kinda freaked me out.....

Pastry Puppets!

So I know some of you asked to see the pastry puppets that were commissioned by a lovely bakery owner... here they are!

Business Eclair, Coconut Cake Monster, Sassy Lemon Meringue Pie

She also bought Chip the Muffin :) Now if you will excuse me I need to make some monsters for another commission - my nephew Hunter requested them to have "one eye and sharp teeth". He also wants a cow with one eye. I think. Sometimes it's hard to understand what a 3 year old is trying to tell you over the phone :)

I am posting from my iphone. Cool :)

Moving on... I had a bad day at work today. Being memorial day weekend it's one of the busiest of the year. Which is ok. That is, if your staff showed up on time. So my day didn't start out as planned due to this.

And I don't understand why people feel like they can be dowright mean to sales associates. I got yelled at for something a customer misunderstood. She thought we refused to ring her daughter up when in fact the daughter wasn't ready. She insisted we were wrong. Ugh whatever. And little teenage rich girls just love treating us like we are beneath them.

On the up side on the way home from work I daydreamed about taking my someday kid to the zoo and a picnic in the park thanks to a radio show I listened to called Greasy Kid Stuff (google it!). It was kid songs that were all punk and alternative. My favorite was "who put the duh in dinosaur, must have been the dumb brontosaurus". I think it was by Snow Patrol but I'm not sure. I just happened on the show because my radio dial was on 94.7 Alternative Portland. I love that station. I think you can stream it if interested.

Also my tattoo is looking good, almost healed :) for those of you who have a tattoo know that it goes through a gross ugly stage which I won't get into. It's looking prettier now.

I also have my ivf class on tuesday yay!!! I am excited but my husband is in for a nice shock I think. Especially when it comes to him injecting the meds for me.

Oh and to those who have asked, I will post pics of the new finger puppets when I finish :)

DMV Update

****DISCLAIMER****
I do not drink, smoke, or do illicit drugs nor do I condone the use of such substances. But to each
their own.
You are probably wondering why the disclaimer and what it has to do with the DMV. Here it is...

First off I PASSED the smog test!! Woohoo!! And my check engine light hasn't gone back on yet! A small woohoo on that because I know it won't last... that's ok, I need to take ol' Betty (that's my car) in for some work, but at least now I don't have a clock ticking above it and the threat of getting pulled over for registration (again). So YAY. It can wait until after IVF :)

I was so excited that I passed I went straight over to the DMV to get my Oregon registration all good and legal. I had Washington plates, but I didn't think about what my new plates would say. I handed over all of my goodies to the clerk: the form, title, insurance card, smog paper thingie, and check. She hands me back my new plates and stickers. "Yay for 2 year registration!" I think to myself... then I look down at the plates. Oh. Dear. God.

For those who don't know, the term "420" is known around the U.S. as a term for marijuana possession or appreciation. Now I live in the PNW. Here in Oregon it is a term widely known by all, whether they are into it or not. So cool. I now look like a drug dealer because I just happen to get "420 EEZ"... easy pot here. No, not really.

Dream...

I had a really bizarre, very vivid dream last night. I dreamt I was riding a bike along a trail. at the head of the trail was a baby bunny with long ears standing straight up. He was looking at me like he was sad so I scooped him up and zipped him into my jacket. I immediately thought his mommy bunny was hit by something and killed. Along the trail all of the animal were dead along the sides, like they were all hit by a car or something. they weren't gory though, just lying there. There were several different animals, but the only ones I remember now were geese - 2 of them. I was sad for the animals but happy I saved the bunny had with me... Weird, huh? Oh I think I was with my sister Shelby, that was probably because I was talking to her last night...
Trust me, not all of my dreams are this morbid :)

My crude photoshop of my dream... poor bunny!!

____________________________________________________________________

I have since gone to http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/ and kinda figured out what the dream meant.... so here goes...

Riding a bicycle means I am trying to find balance in life. The trail signifies progress. Because the trail was rough it means I am having a rough go of it. The rabbit is a symbol for fertility, as are the geese, but because they were dead in my dream it means I don't have a lot hope in the fertility department. BUT I did rescue that little bunny rabbit, I am acknowledging my feelings of fertility, and since that bunny was alive, I still have hope. So is basically told me what I already know...

Either that or I ate too much of my chocolate easter bunny the night before....

Easter

I am spending Easter with my sister Tabs and her family. It's been fun, although I am so tired. We were going to go home this evening but I am so sleepy I can't drive, so we will leave early tomorrow. Josh has the flu, so he will be sleeping on the way home. Totally fine, I downloaded the soundtrack to Sweeney Todd to my iPhone so I willl sing showtunes at the top of my lungs while he pleasantly slumbers in the back seat...
We spent the weekend watching movies, all of which were pretty decent. We watched Mirrors, Bedtime Stories, and 7 Pounds. the best in my opinion was 7 Pounds, Will Smith plays defeated quite well!

Oh, I also got bored and made a list of baby names for y'all to vote on... Look to the left for a link...

That's it for now... But I leave you with the YUMMY Johnny Depp in a scene from Sweeney Todd... Enjoy... *

*Yes, I know it's not exactly Easter-y, but whatever....

Day... umm, what day is it?

I lost count, I think I am on day 27... Anyway, I am doing pretty good. I ran errands yesterday, yes I drove all over town and it was FAB to be behind the wheel again... But I got home and my uterus reminded me that it was still healing and decided to be a pain all evening...

My life is quite boring right now. All I do is Facebook and work on crafts and such. I am making this huge sacred heart wall sculpture.. I may sell it on Etsy, but I doubt it. either way, I will post a picture of it when I am done... I have also been wearing out my DVR with episodes of Cash in the Attic (I loves me some Alistair Appleton!), Dancing with the Stars (GO STEVE O!), and of course, 90210... BTW, Lucy Liu was in a 2nd season episode playing a waitress at the Peach Pit...

Ok, off to watch Steve O get kicked off DWTS... I never thought a jackass could be so damn charming*...

UPDATE!
Steve O is still on! YAY!

*TRUST ME, watch the video... when he's sober he's like a 6 year old kid on the first day of school...

Day 11 and Happy Birthday to meeeeee

I woke up this morning to starbucks peppermint hot chocolate and and a cinnamon roll from my dear husband :-) I hadn't had Starbucks since just after my surgery (hence the bank account going down much slower that usual..). It was YUMMY...

Then Josh went to the store and got me all of my goodies I wanted - veggies, milk, and the piece de resistance peanut M&M's... ahh, my favorite...

He also bought me an iPhone! Yay!! I love it and I have already filled it with different apps, such as Facebook (of course) and Bejeweled...

Then we decided to break the rules and go to a movie. we saw the new Nicolas Cage movie Knowing and it was pretty cool. There were lots of little foreshadowing thingies during and it was all tied up in a neat little package at the end. Special effects were great, Josh even shrieked a little during an especially specialy effected scene...

Then we were going to go to my favorite place House of Good Fortune but decided to get takeout from them which was super yummy....

Now I am relaxing watching Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels where the girls are currently taking slutty photos of eachother - but classy slutty. Of course.

So I leave you with the video to my favorite Birthday song. Here's Concrete Blonde with HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
My favorite are the kitty cartoons..

Day 10... only 5 weeks to go... and Did you Know? BH90210 edition..

I am feeling much better today than days past. Except I had no idea how much you use your stomach muscles for everyday things, such as scoop ice cream into a bowl, or try to yell over the carpet cleaning service next door.. Anyway, I have spent a lot of my time watching old Beverly Hills 90210 reruns and I am surprised at how many now famous people have shown up. I mean, we all know that Hilary Swank was on for a season, but did you know that:

Djimon Hounsou played a doorman on the first episode?
Jessica Alba played a teen mom? She tried to ditch her baby but good old Kelly saved that day...

Eva Longoria has a bit (teeny bit) part as an airline attendant towards the end of the series?

Dean Cain was Brenda's love in Paris? That was when she cheated on Dylan...

Matthew Perry played a tennis player in an early eposide?

And Ryan Seacrest was a game show host when Donna and Matt were on to win $25k. Kelly was just too embarrased to go on...

Others have been on too, such as Daniel Day Kim (of LOST), David Arquette, and Playboy Bunny Julie McCullough.

Just a bit of mindless crap for you to chew on... Seacrest.....OUT!

Quite proud of myself....

Today I changed the bulbs in my car's headlamps... I know it's a small feat, but I betcha I did it faster than Josh would have done...

Next week I get to change my flasher relay for my turn signals... I have been driving without turn signals for, um, a little while now... I didn't realize it was just a part you need to replace in your dash, I thought it was a major $500 deal... so far it has cost me $34.95, but we shall see...Maybe I will even change my own oil*...

*then again, maybe not....

Sunday, January 4, 2009

I am up in Seattle right now. I should be home snug as a bug in my own bed, but Mother Nature decided we didn't have enough snow and dumped a bunch literally about 1/2 hour before we were set to leave....

I am getting anxious to call my doctor and get the ball rolling on Operation Puppy Falling Asleep While Standing

On the BRIGHT side.. I got two cool books - Sex and Bacon by Sarah Katherine Lewis and Belle du Jour by, well, anonymous... Both not for the faint of heart... Belle du Jour is basically a classier version of Sex and Bacon, both still graphic as hell, so if you don't want to hear about sex in weird places, with weird things, with weird people, these books aren't for you.

I CAN however recommend some light-hearted comedic books for my TTC freinds... try Notes from the UnderBelly and Tales from the Crib, both by Risa (not Lisa) Green. they were pretty funny... Oh, and I am now FINALLY on Shopaholic Ties the Knot, so far Sophie Kinsella has not let me down...

Yeah, I'm kinda extreme that way....

This is getting ridiculous...

Dear Mother Earth,

So what's up with all of this snow we have in Portland and the whole Pacific Northwest? I can understand a day or two of it, but this it going on a week and a half with no end in sight. I know others have to deal with it all of the time (someone I know continues to remind me she used to live outside of Buffalo, NY and didn't have snowplows and had to drive/walk/ski to school everyday, probably 5 miles uphill both ways), but we here in PDX are not prepared, nor are we used to it. We don't have a bunch of snowplows waiting in the wings to clear our streets. It's dangerous...

Case and point - My car is stuck at work in Woodburn, about 30 miles from here. It has been since early Saturday morning when it started snowing and I had to put my chains on at 6am in the dark in the snow (a feat which I am quite proud of, mind you). But then, WHOOPS, a cable snapped, which caused me to pull over on I-5, in the dark, wearing all black to take them off and pray the rest of the way to work. Oh, plus I was sick and lost my voice that day. Josh picked me up that day and it took us 3 hours to get home.

So Josh and I decide that we HAVE to get my car. TODAY. He is sick now, BTW. So we get out on our little major street here in Beaverton and promptly lost control of the car and started to spin. Twice. Into oncoming traffic. before you ask, YES we have 4 wheel drive, and yes we had chains.

Scared, I said, screw it, I will miss work and not get my car. I hope to hitch a ride with my assistant tomorrow, that is if she can get out of the driveway. Oh, and she decided to try to ski to the corner store and twisted her knee... See? Dangerous....

So I understand that you, dear Mother Nature, have something against us and think global warming is a bunch of B.S.

I just have one question for you.... It THIS the end of days? Snow-mageddon? If it is I won't waste time and money trying to get knocked up.

I await your reply.

Yours Truly,
Carol

P.S.
Maybe you did it for the dogs. They seem to love it.

P.P.S.
The no power thing was a nice touch. Touche'!
