so I'm currently in Seattle (well, Maple Valley). I'm exhausted. And it's only Tuesday. I miss my husband. I miss my doggies. They are coming up this weekend and then we will caravan back down to Portland Sunday night.

I am getting excited about the possibility of writing a children's book based on my story below... (thanks Sandra!) I have no idea where to begin though! I started writing a manuscript and researching what I need to know. I used to know a children's book author but she doesn't write anymore and I haven't spoken to her in years. I used to work at a little camera store she would frequent and even photographed a couple of her jacket covers.

I guess the first step is to finish the manuscript and find an agent.

Aside from that I am back on the pill since i didn't O when I needed to. And the Pharmacy called me over the weekend to schedule delivery of my 13 medications for IVF - YAY!!! So I will have them June 3rd and will of course take the obligatory picture of them...

And it looks like "Jelly Moons" is in the lead for the finger puppet biz :) AND I have some headbands going up when I have the energy :) They are purdy too...

Going to Seattle...

But only for a week. I am training a new employee up there.
BUT...
It's next week...
I am on CD10 as of today. I will be going out there on or around CD15.
And my dear sweet husband is not going with me... YIKES! That might be cutting it close...
So everyone needs to send me O vibes and pray that I do O before I head up there....
This month I am charting like hell, and using OPK's. So far I've done 2 and they are both negatory. top one was today (but diluted, I was drinking water on my way home from work...)

STOP getting excited. These are OPK's, NOT Chele's lucky HPT's :) And you can say it.. they look the same...sigh...

Here's my chart if you need something to chant O vibes to:

MY CHART

I am having some little pains here and there, but it's near where I was worked on (my left side).. so it could be risidual post-surgery stuff or it could be my left ovary playing the little engine that could....

I think I can, I think, I can....

Seattle? NOW?!

So a little background... I used to live in California and my SIL lived pretty close. Then she up and moved to the Seattle area. DH and I came up to visit the family and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. So I asked for a transfer at my job, the closest they could get me to Seattle was Portland. I'll TAKE it!

Fast forward 3 years. Found an amazing doctor, work with an amazing team, I am happy. going to IVF very soon. And I get this phone call... from my boss...

boss: "I want you to take over a store up in Seattle. I know you've always wanted to live there so I thought you can take it. It's higher volume and needs someone strong."

me: "Umm, errr, Wha?!" And thinking, CRAP, why now?

boss: "It's a great opportunity and we really need you. And the company won't pay for the move"

me: "I can't afford to move 200 miles away to another state. I have a financial agenda and used my savings to pay off bills so I can buy a house in a year"

boss: "How much can a move be? Can't you just charge it?"

me: thinking - *I would still have to pay for it if I charged it...* "When I moved to Portland it cost almost $4000. I don't have that. Call me in September if you still need me there"

She does have someone there, but only every other week. It's complicated. Plus she lives in Hawaii where a move is renting a uhaul for $20 and driving across the island (unless you move to another island, but even then it ain't $ grand). Not to a whole other state.

So, yeah, good timing....but at least I am considered "strong"....

I am up in Seattle right now. I should be home snug as a bug in my own bed, but Mother Nature decided we didn't have enough snow and dumped a bunch literally about 1/2 hour before we were set to leave....

I am getting anxious to call my doctor and get the ball rolling on Operation Puppy Falling Asleep While Standing

On the BRIGHT side.. I got two cool books - Sex and Bacon by Sarah Katherine Lewis and Belle du Jour by, well, anonymous... Both not for the faint of heart... Belle du Jour is basically a classier version of Sex and Bacon, both still graphic as hell, so if you don't want to hear about sex in weird places, with weird things, with weird people, these books aren't for you.

I CAN however recommend some light-hearted comedic books for my TTC freinds... try Notes from the UnderBelly and Tales from the Crib, both by Risa (not Lisa) Green. they were pretty funny... Oh, and I am now FINALLY on Shopaholic Ties the Knot, so far Sophie Kinsella has not let me down...

Yeah, I'm kinda extreme that way....

Ahhh, Seattle...

I am officially on vacation. I should be in New York City celebrating my anniversary with my dear husband, but unfortunately I spent all of our money on medical crap, so I am in Seattle at my sister-in-law's place. We have all been playing Rock Band (I tell ya, you haven't lived until you've hears an 8 year old little girl sing Metallica. My niece kicks ass.). Actually, I have been listening to them play while I read The Nanny Diaries and Bonk, the Curious Science of Sex.
Oh, and applying Mendhi (henna) to my hand:

I think I will do my feet next. I like this design:

I totally want a sari now...
