How do I put this... (TMI)

Ok, so I think I may be the only one of my blogger friends that hadn't "done the deed" since Riley and Dylan were born. It was weird. We hadn't since last November (gasp!) just because it was weird and uncomfortable and just... weird. then after the babies were born we obviously had to wait 6 weeks, then we just... waited...

I didn't want to turn into roommates after the babies were born. I wanted to get back in the saddle, so to speak, but there was never a *right* time to. Either he wasn't into it or I wasn't into it, we were tired, one or both of us felt gross, etc. But thankfully, the dry spell is officially over...

However... I stopped taking birth control because it made me moody. Whoops.

He knew I wasn't on it anymore. I mean, what are the odds I could get pregnant naturally?

Wait, don't answer that.

Silly me wanted to grab a glass of water. I put Dylan on his activity mat and came back and he was on his tummy! Riley was kickin' it in her walker and watched the whole thing :)

4 Months already?!?!?!?

Are you kidding me? These little munchkins turned 4 months on Sunday!

AND - exactly one year ago today I was patiently waiting for my beta results.... Wow. What a difference a year makes... Reading back on everything is so surreal. Did we REALLY do all that we did or was it just a dream?

So on with the babies....

DYLAN
He's such a mama's boy! Loves cuddles in the morning, ALWAYS wakes up with a huge crooked smile on his precious face. He's still in the cosleeper next to me so I get to wake up and see this face. Sometimes he sleeps in the crib in the corner of our room and Riley goes in the cosleeper, but since Dylan usually wakes up first it's easier to have him there.

He eats like a little horse! I am guessing close to 40oz a day. I have had to go out and buy bottles that will hold 8oz because when he's done with a 5oz he is still hungry!

He is learning to sit up on my lap (assisted) and it also starting to show interest in what I am eating, so we will go to solids soon. Like I said, he's a total mama's boy - he doesn't really get upset unless I am out of sight. Even if I go to the kitchen to make him a bottle and I talk to him - if he doesn't see me it's waterworks! And it's so sad - when he cries it's now that "wah wah" whiny cry - it's tears, red eyes, and pouty lip. When he smiles he beams. And his laugh is adorable :) His hair still has a touch of red in it. His eyes are slowly turning green! Basically he looks like Josh with my coloring :)

RILEY
Such a little independent one... Although she isn't smiling in this picture she does smile every single morning at me.

Look at those eyes! They look like they are getting lighter and staying blue! I am betting she will have bright blue eyes like her daddy - the kind that can look right through you. Her hair is getting long and starting to curl more, still dark but with gold streaks. Her roots are lighter brown. I don't know if she is going to be blond, stay brunette, or go red. Either way she's a beautiful little girl!

She eats closer to 32oz a day - she kind of snacks all day, it's hard for her to take a full bottle. She is also learning to sit up on my lap. She definitely prefers to sit completely upright and not lean back on anything so I find myself with her sitting on my lap and me holding her shoulders.

They both coo and talk all of the time. This morning Dylan decided to have a long and seemingly important conversation with his teddy bears. Riley talks to her monkey a lot, saying "oooh oooh ooh", so I guess she is speaking monkey language :) They also talk to eachother a lot - so cute!!

They are both really close to rolling over back to tummy! And they can more or less hold their own bottles for a couple of minutes. It's amazing to see them progress as quickly as they are!  We have a pediatrician visit tomorrow so I get to see how much these little angels weigh! They also get shots :( Booo....

Another Award!!

Thank you so much Kristen from Kuppy Kakes by Kristen!

So the deal is 7 things you don't know about me... What is there that you don't know? I basically have placed my heart and soul on this blog... I'm sure I can think of something, but forgive me if I repeated myself!

1. I love to sew. I got my first sewing machine when I was about 5 years old from my mom for Christmas. But I don't generally use patterns, I like to make it up as I go along!
2. I'm left-handed! That same Christmas my Gramma Charlotte gave me a pair of left handed sewing scissors. Yeah, a 5 year old got scissors as a gift, and she was darned excited about it! I notice Riley favors her left hand :)
3. I can also knit and crochet, but I get bored with projects.
4. Some of my best friends are people I have never met in person. You know who you are :)
5. I have found that since becoming a mother I have also become more spiritual. I find myself praying and talking to God more than ever now.
6. I <3 PopTarts
7. I also <3 Ricky Gervias!

Time? What's that?

Yeah, I am continuing to be a bad blogger.. it's not that I don't want to, but I have been spreading myself thin. From making dresses to focusing on my other blog to of course playing with my babies I end up having about enough time left over to eat and sleep.... Anyway, I will TRY my hardest to blog on this blog...

Dylan and Riley are really beginning to learn so much! They are better with their hand/eye coordination each day. It's really breathtaking.. There's no other word for it. I could stare at them for hours as the little wheels in their heads turn and they realize that if they think about reaching for a toy, they can do it. I also got a new tub for them - the Tummy Tub. It's the one that looks like a bucket but isn't... They can sit up by themselves in it and play! Dylan gets so excited when he splashes around in it!

If anyone wants to FB friend me, go HERE... that way you can see pics of the twins all the time (I post random pictures all the time!) I WILL continue to blog... promise ;)
